Typically when I write songs I try to make it personal. I know in the 'music business' you're supposed to make music as relative as possible so it raises the chance of people being able to relate to the words. Originally when I wrote this song I had all these personal details. I like making my songs personal because it just means so much more to me. Like my last EP, I wrote from the heart and wrote about the things I was going through at the time. I soon realized that I made it too personal and hardly anyone could relate.

I really believe this song is most relative for those in a long distance relationship or people who haven't seen each other for a long time. For me, Monday is about a point in time, a mark, for counting down the days. For some it may mean counting down the days until you see a person again or it could be about counting down until it's been a month, or a year since you've seen them.
